Win Vista vs Win 7
I am planning on moving to a 64-bit OS and was wondering on which OS would be better. I have used vista aready but was wondering if going straight to Win 7 would be a better choice, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you want to keep playing UT on that machine, you can't pick Win7 x64. UTDC doesn't work on it. You can play on any server that hasn't got that crap running.
Other than that, I'm not a x64 user so I can't help out much. I liked Vista and I like Win7.

I've used both Windows Vista 64bit and Windows 7 64bit, and I'd have to say Windows 7 is much better. The only drawback is the UTDC issue, but hopefully that'll be resolved soon, and there's still quite a few servers that don't use it that you won't have a problem with.
The customization and user-friendly options on Windows 7 definitely are better than Windows Vista, plus the whole OS uses less resources, so it runs much faster and much smoother.

Well folks, I know that it has been a while since I have been playing. But the reasons for this little break from playing really has been work and computer issues. I think now I might have fixed some of the issues. I do want to let you know that win7 64 will play on the FuN Clan servers. I haven't tried any other server because I know from trying with vista 64 that it just won't work.
So duel booting my computer will be the ticket. I have xp 64 on my other drive.
So far I like win 7, it is faster than vista and xp. The graphics are great. So far no issues with install. So if everyone would quit cheating on UT and start playing, I could play everywhere. But we all know that ain't gonna happen....
Try win7 it is a good program.

That's ok, you're from the UK. Won't blame it on you... 
Besides, I'm not running Vista on any of my machines now, it's Win7 Proffesional 32 bit on the work laptop and the game desktop and Ubuntu 9.10 on the home-office desktop. And, ofcourse, XP on a old workhorse to host internal lan games
