In a world with too much browsers being used at the same time, it's a nightmare to check if your website works in all different versions. Especially if the versions of the browsers can't be installed seperatly, like IE which you always have to upgrade. I came across a tool that installs all versions of IE so far, from 1.5 to 8.0 and you can use them all. So you can open which ever version you'd like to test your webpage in and see what it looks like.

It's called Internet Explore collection and can be found here (http://finalbuilds.edskes.net/iecollection.htm) (website, the download is on there and about 55 meg's).

Last word of advice, install it on a virtual machine if you can and only use the older version for your testing purposes, don't go browsing the web in any of them. There's some serious security issues with versions of IE prior to 7.

Ok Mark, i used to be a IE user, but thanks to Phil I switched to Mozilla Firefox. I only use IE8 for some application that a supplier uses. It doesn't work under Firefox, but that is the only thing I've found that doesn't work. IE does load pretty slow comparing to Firefox hyst hyst hyst

I use Chrome mainly on my work laptop, but have to use IE for testing because our clients mostly use it. I only use FF on my Ubuntu machine, on my work laptop Chrome & IE8 take about a second to start up and display the default blank page, whilst FF takes a full 7 seconds to start up. Not sure what's causing that massive difference.

Yes Firefox is very good but tends to hog the memory.
Even if you follow the tweaks for improving speed.
Because of this, don't use it on old machines as it will freeze up the system.
