Well let me explain the situation ............... We recently got a new Mini Pin ............. they brought her home last weekend ............. This Friday she had a bout of diarrhea and vomiting .............. we took here to an animal hospital to get her checked out ........... she has an appointment to get her shots Monday ............. so they tested her for Parvo and said her test was negative ......... that is the good news ................... NOW the question is, When will my dog get back to defecating normally. She goes outside and does pee....... but she will not poop ................ Saturday i just took it as, her stomach was empty but it is now Sunday and nothing ............... eating is good .......... peeing is ok .............. just no pooping ..................... Any helpful answers would be appreciated ............... we have never had a dog before .................

PS - she is 4 months old ........................

Depends what they eat. Obviously puppies eat different foods to adults dogs, and adult dogs if they can have those dried biscuit food - Iams or something, then they have solid stools and it isn't messy.

Time will fix this, obviously the food is going in one end, so it will come out the other end eventually. All you need to do is find something that may help with digestion better, a bit like humans eating some forms of fruit to makes spools softer.

Raw vegetables would be good, but as they are a puppy, probably not good on the teeth yet. Perhaps some boiled purree'd veg? But I wouldn't want to suggest something that may promote runny stools again.

Draco is a big softie in the dog department, and I'm guessing he would know. I've not had a dog for many years, I'm getting to grips with a 5 day year old child!

Ok Blood i'll give my two cents. I was a vet tech/animal control officer for 5 years. First dloose stool and a little vomiting in a pup isnt that abnormal. If she is still drinking and eating then as Sgt said, it'll come out sooner or later. The parvo test was a good way to go. that can be pretty serious in pups. Id recoment a bland diet for the next few days. this helps ease any irritation in the digestive track. (best to go with boiled chicken/no skin and maybe even some white rice.) just easy stuff to digest. Is she still vommiting or have you niticed any blood in either? (vomit/stool) Id also maybe hold on the shots for another week or two. being four months old she hasnt developed a effective emune system yet.let her get over this inncident befor introducing the vaccines into her body. If they checked for parvo i would assume that they did i routine fecal ample to check for worms too. Puppies almost always have worms (hookworm, roundworm and tapeworm) from birth. Id get her dewormed as if she has them they can be passed on to you or any other living thing in your home (pets, children, wife ect) This is done by physically handleing her stool. Sry if i scare you with this info but a lot of people are not aware of this risk. Another question is if you have recently changed her food? this can cause upset stonach. we always recomended a gradual food switch by mixing both old and new foood together over a period of a few days. Anywho hope this can be of use to you. Feel free to ask more if you need any advice.
